Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art form that celebrates imperfections by repairing broken ceramics with gold.

In this reflective and symbolic workshop, participants explore the philosophy behind Kintsugi — the idea that breakage and repair are part of an object’s story rather than something to hide.

What happens in a Kintsugi class

• Break it. Each participant receives a ceramic piece that they will intentionally break under guidance — the part everyone is nervous about and then loves.

• Learn the tradition. A short walkthrough of kintsugi's history and the wabi-sabi philosophy behind it: imperfection as history, not flaw.

• Rebuild in gold. Reassemble your piece using our specialized adhesive, then finish every seam with gold powder.

• Take it home. Unlike our fired pottery classes, kintsugi pieces go home with you at the end of the session — no 4–6 week wait.
